Summary: Learn how to stalk a white tailed deer while hunting in this free video.
"Hi this is John again. Now we’re going to be talking about a technique that a lot of hunters can use in late season when the deer aren’t moving very much it’s called stalking. What this is basically is walking very quietly through the wood being very observant. What you will be doing is you will be stopping and looking more than you will be walking, it may take you a whole afternoon to cover a few hundred yards distance, but there’s a good chance that you will be seeing a deer in that area. One of the ways you can put this to your advantage is to know which way the wind is blowing. A technique that you can use in loo of an artificial smoke dispenser is a simple match. What you can do is strike the match, be very careful when you put it out that you don’t start a forest fire. Let it go out and watch which way the smoke is going, you can see the smoke is heading this way. So what you always want to do is hunt into the wind, so we will be hunting in this direction. And so what we will do is go out starting in this direction and do my stalk moving very quietly and very slowly making sure you don’t break any twigs or cause any unnecessary movement. Your goal here is to get a chance to shoot at a deer when he is just walking through or maybe standing and doesn’t realize you’re even there. "
