"Hello my name is Dmitri Olympiev and I teach at Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke, Florida. You can reach us on the web at www.www.pinesicearena.com. Now another way of changing directions is an exercise called “Mohawk”. Now when we do a three turn, we only use one foot, but when we do a mohawk, we use both feet. This is how it looks like. As you can see, we substitute one foot with another, on one foot we’re going forward on the other foot we’re going to go backwards. When you change your feet like that, it’s important that you put your foot right in the middle of the skating bar. And this is how you change direction, one, two, three. The other foot, one, two, three. We’ll be right back."

on 3/19/2009 Excellent video. Has helped me quite a bit. I am taking beginning lessons and it is nice to see it done in slow motion. People need to grow up and quit making nasty comments because someone has an accent.

on 2/21/2009 Most of the comments that have been posted to Mr. Olympiev's videos are deeply concerning. It confirms the belief we have here in Australia that America is a nation of predjudiced, intolerant and egotistical people.
Perhaps if you weren't all so full of yourselves and paid attention to what people from other countries can offer, you might just learn something - it's called basic human decency.

on 9/17/2008 For people like you who actually take the time to make nasty comments like that I feel sorry. You obviously prefer to spend your time criticizing others than making something of yourself. WHAT have you done lately that WE can judge? I LOVE this guy, his accent is adorable and he is obviously a very competent ice skater. People like you SUCK.
