"Hello my name is Dmitri Olympiev and I teach at Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke, Florida. You can reach us on the web at www.Www.pinesicearena.com. Now when you’re a good skater and you skate fast, one thing you need to learn is how to stop on the ice. One thing to understand is when you stop on the ice, you use the whole side of the blade and one exercise to help you to do it is this. Bend your knees, keep your back straight, arms out and then brush the ice to the side. Brush the ice to the side. You can do it with the other foot also, brush, brush. Now when we stop though, we have to keep the knees together and then twist the ankle into the brush. One, Two, Three, bend the knees, twist the ankle and the same thing with the other foot. One, Two, Three, bend the knees, twist the ankle. We’ll be right back."
