" Hi my name is Dan and I'm here with Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to tie a anchor bend. The anchor bend is typically used to tie a anchor to the anchor rope or the line that is attaching to the anchor or boat. Since I don't have anchor I'm going to use a carabiner in place of a loop at the end of anchor. Start with anchor rope or line and feed through the loop away from you. Bring the loop around towards and back through your anchor. Now you want to keep this loop open for the time being. Pass the working in around and through the loop. Then take a half hitch. The anchor bend is a self tightening knot and performs well when wet. I will tie it for you one more time. Anchor, line, go through your loop, around and down, one more time. The anchor bend."
