"I'm going to discuss how to properly make a layup. First off, what is a layup? A layup is a shot that you make either while you're dribbling through the basket or while you're directly underneath the basket. It's a 2 point shot. It's an easy shot, but some people really blow up because they make the layup off the wrong leg. When I'm going to make a layup. I'm going to go underneath the basket so I can show you. When I'm dribbling down the right side, I want to make sure I go off my left leg. You heard me correctly. I said my left leg. That way when you go up and you jump, you're going to have a good balance. I'm going to dribble a little bit from the top of the key. Dribble. I'll do that again. That happen pretty quickly. I made sure I went off my left leg and I shot it with my right hand because I'm on the right side. Also, you noticed I used the backboard, or that big piece of metal. Sometimes it's nice when you go to a basketball court, they have a big red box around the basket. That way you know exactly where to place the ball. It's the reverse for the left side. When I'm dribbling down the left hand side, make sure I use my left hand and I make sure I go off my right foot. That's right. Right foot because I want to maintain good balance. Dribble with my left hand using the backboard. I'll show that again. I missed. There you go. I didn't use the backboard last time. That's why I missed. That's how you make a layup. "
