"Hi, my name is Chad and we’re talking about various kinds of rifles. And we’re going to talk about pump action a little bit here. This is an old rifle and pump actions aren’t as popular today as they once were. This is what they’d call a “woods hunting” gun; it’s good for hunting in very close brush. It works by loading a magazine that is underneath the barrel here. You put rounds in it one at a time. And then you would close the action- it would pop up a round and stick it inside. And each time you would pull the trigger, it would fire, and then you could work the slide backward and forward, like a trombone, and it would pull another round and stick it into the barrel, kicking out the old one, putting in a new one, kicking out the old one over and over each time you fired. It would just keep firing. And that’s a pump action, that’s basically how it works, similar to many shotguns these days. Once again its an old style, been around for many, many years and this rifle itself is probably almost fifty, sixty, maybe a hundred years old. "
