"We're talking about skateboarding parts and maintenance. We're going to talk about one part of the skateboard, the wheels. A skateboard has 4 wheels 2 in the front and 2 in the front they spin across a fixed axle which is part of a trunk. Unlike a car or a bicycle where the wheel moves with the axle on a skateboard, the axle is fixed and the wheel moves around the axle on metal barrings. Choosing the right wheel is a very important part of getting started in your skateboard equipment collection. Wheels come in different sizes they also come in different widths. You'll notice this wheel is much wider than this wheel, a wider wheel is more appropriate for ramp and street skating. Whereas a thinner wheel is more appropriate for street skating. Wheels also come in different hardness. Some wheels are very softer thing as other wheels are very hard. A harder wheel is going to make it harder to travel on rough surfaces. A softer wheel is going to make it easier to travel on rough surfaces also softer wheels grip the road better, harder wheels tend to slide a lot more. The trick is to find a wheel that has the width that you like the size that you like and also the correct hardness for your skateboard purposes. Make sure you pick the wheel that is right for you, attach them to your trucks and you are on your way to be a skateboarder."
