"The first step to mounting is to ensure that your girth is good and tight. We'll begin by making sure that the non-elastic side is already up and snug which it seems to be and we'll continue with tightening the elastic side since this side is the easier side to tighten. Once it's tight, it should be fairly snug. If you try to put your fingers under, there should be resistance. It's important that this is tight so that when we get on, the saddle doesn't slip. Next we're going to put the reins over the horse's head. To begin with, if you're a child, if you're short, you can use a jump rope method and you're just going to swing the reins over the horse's head or you can simply take the reins and put them up over the horse's head. Being a little slow, some horse's can be head shy so you want to be careful not to scare them."
