When you go to buy a ferret at a pet shop, what you’re usually getting is a young kit usually with no social skills. Like I’m holding this one here. He would be nipping and biting and would have to learn that human are not edible. Sanctuaries also have young kits from time to time because people do buy them from pet stores and they usually cost about 150 dollars. Unfortunately, they don’t get all the information about them and then they realize that they’re really not adapting to their lifestyle. Definitely, sanctuaries do have…like Thelma here, she’s probably only about 9 months old, but she’s already socialized and ready to go. If you do buy from a pet store, make sure that you know about the ferret and what it needs in it’s life at that stage. "
