Cut the Ceiling & Floor of a Bat House

"We need to measure for the top ceiling and the bottom of the bat house. The top of the ceiling our measurements are three inches by eleven and a half inches. That will be the top of the bat house. For the bottom of the bat house the bats require one inch to get in and out of. We will be closing this down to one inch instead of leaving it three to keep predators out and allow the bats access. So, we must have two inches this way and we will be cutting eleven and a half inches that way, from our three-quarters inch plywood. I need to raise the blade, and set the rip fence to three inches for the ceiling. I'm moving the rip fence out of the way, and I need my miter gage once again to cut it to the length. I will measure eleven and half inches from the one end, and mark it, moving my base stock out of the way of the saw. Now I'm going to cut the bottom out of the scrap piece that I used for the top, and cut it to length. Now I need to cut it two inches wide, so I need to remove my miter, and reset my rip fence setting it to two inches that I need for the bottom. This particular cut requires a push piece once it gets started through. Well fit in like that, while the ceiling of the bat house, as you can see it closes the top of the bat house off, similar to that. And that is how you cut the top ceiling and the bottom for the bat house."
