"Next thing that we're going to talk about is the proper caging for your blood python that we've just picked out, a beautiful guy. Now, you need to make sure that you're aware of the fact that a blood python is not going to stay this size. You're probably buying him as a baby, it's going to be a little more inexpensive that way. However, he's going to get to be five to six feet. Blood pythons are not super long snakes, but they are long enough to be considered a big snake and they are very thick-bodied. So when you start off putting a blood python in something like a fifteen gallon aquarium, it's going to be just fine. However, as he grows, your chances are you will probably be forced into building your own enclosure or buying a custom built one. You're probably for one adult blood python, if you're still looking at aquariums, like a ninety gallon aquarium would be more than acceptable for an adult blood python. Something that's going to be forty eight inches long. Something that's going to be deep, preferably eighteen inches, at least, deep because he is going to be a thick-bodied snake. Now, we're not actually looking for a height in the caging, we want footprint, because, while these guys are big, they're not a tree dwelling snake. They're very fat-bodied, they're thick. They like to be on the ground, they like to be stable, so we're looking for a large footprint. Something at least forty eight inches long and preferably eighteen to twenty four inches deep. They are big and they need lots of space to move around."
