"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Carl Puentes with K-9 Solutions in Miami, Florida and today I am going to show you dog training techniques from my new book, "Who is Training Whom." Okay another command is down stay. Very comfortable for the dog. Dog's get tired of sitting after a while. So once you have already told the dog to go down, now stay down. Down and then stay. He can stay there for as long as you want him to, as long as he doesn't move; even up to 2 hours if you want. Most people don't need a dog to stay for more than 30 minutes, 20 minutes but if you needed him to stay for longer, that would be the position to have him stay. Sitting is just, there is no reason for it. Just to say he was sitting and staying for a long time is no good. Good stay. Good doggy stay. "
