"Getting into a kayak could be a little bit of a trick so remember we are more graceful in the water then we are out of the water. So if you feel a little clumsy at first it is okay you would get use to it. What I'm going to do is I'm basically going to sit on the back of my kayak deck so back here, I'm going to move my legs one at a time into the cockpit and then I'm going to let my legs go forward and get each knee underneath the thigh braces. Make sure your back bend is up and you are not sitting on it. If you can see that I have my knees underneath those thigh braces, my feet are touching something in the front of my boat my front foam and my back bend is struggled to the small of my back. Know it is good to have a nice good fit to feel comfortable getting into your kayak. Then I can basically put my brace skirt on and make sure everything is checked we are going to do a quick safety check when we do that. What that means is we want to make sure before we take off that we have 4 points check and in this case it's zip make sure your PFD is zipped up, clip your helmet is clipped up, the next word is in and for me I have a drain plug so I want to make sure my drain plug is in and then out make sure that the strap is out. So it's zip, clip, in and out if you remember those 4 words you remember those 4 key elements to make sure to do your check before you get out in the river."
