"Proper posture is a key basic principle in whitewater kayaking, in any kind of kayaking for that matter. You want to be sitting up straight proud to be a kayaker and slightly tilted forward in a more aggressive stance. You don't want to be under the radar or way back in that easy chair. You want to be sitting up nice and straight so you're able to rotate around your spine. If you look here I can rotate here fully if I'm sitting up straight. If I'm laying back it's a lot more difficult. So sitting up straight so that I can rotate around the center part of my spine. The other thing that you want to keep in mind is the paddlers box. Everything that happens in the paddle should be in front of you in this sort of box area. So if I came and turned my torso towards you, it's still in this box area, that's called the paddlers box. It's key to remember to have proper posture to have good technique."
