"Hi, this is David for Expert Village and today we are going to make a stuffed mirliton pirogue. So to make our mirliton pirogue we need what it in the south they call them mirliton. Out in the west coast they call chayote these are all grown all over the south and in the warmer climates of this particularly Puerto Rica. It is a interesting little story. But basically what we want to do is we have some boiling water. The water is getting ready to boil here and we want to cook it. So I would show you how to do it. So you just want to go lengthwise just like that. You see you have this nice white flesh in the middle and we are going to hollow this out and this is going to be our pirogue which is a flat bottom boat down in Louisiana that you probably have seen where they pull the boat down cause the water is shallow. So this is sort of going to take off on that. We are going to stuffed this. "
