Mousse is made of a combination of whipped eggs and cream and is frequently paired with other flavors, most commonly chocolate but also different types of pureed fruit. Depending on how it is prepared, mousse can range from light and fluffy to thick and creamy.

"Hi, this is Karen for Expert Village. Today we'll be making chocolate mousse. Chocolate mousse can be served chilled or frozen. I'll be showing you how to make a crust and pour the mousse into the crust and freeze it we'll serve it frozen. What we'll be using today is I have 2, we're going to be making a crust and we're going to be making the mousse. These are the ingredients for the mousse 12 oz of a semi sweet chocolate. Choose a good chocolate because that will have a major impact on the flavor, 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream or whipping cream, 1 cup of sugar divide it into 2 half cups portions, 1/2 cup of water, 4 eggs that will be separating, 1 tablespoon of instant coffee, and a pinch of salt. For the crust we'll be using 8 oz of chocolate cookie wafers, 3 oz of butter or margarine, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. We'll be using a 10" spring form pan, spring form pan is used so that the sides can be removed easier and it should be easy to remove the dessert from the pan."
