"Hi, I am David Belch with Expert Village and today I am going to show you how to install windows. What I am going to do now is put the sides on. They are called jambs. Measure my furtherest edge. Push the sill down as far as I can. Measure my outside measurement which is 40 and 3/8's. My cut out, these are 2 inches. I have got 1/2 inch board so I'll mark that 2 and 1/2. Flip it over and repeat. That is a relief cut. The window slopes so we are out further than that so put a little taper in here. Then put a taper here. What this does is allow this edge if it is in too far, to clear this in at the top. You will see what I am talking about. I have a board up here and I have to notch out for that. It is a nice tight fit. Two nails are fine. Repeat in the opposite manner."
