Jacking Up a Vehicle & Removing Jack Stands

"In this clip, we're going to talk about the proper way to remove and replace worn front brake hoses on a 1991 Ford Explorer. In this step, we're going to talk about jacking the vehicle up so we can get our jack stand out from underneath the frame, and torquing procedure for our lugnuts. I have my heavy-duty hydraulic floor jack here. I'm going to go ahead and lock down the tightening nut, and line it up with a portion of the frame. Once I have it lifted up off my jack stand, you can go ahead and take and release the safety mechanism and slide it out, just like so. You're going to want to release the pressure on your floor jack pretty slowly so the vehicle creeps down and doesn't slam down to the ground, which may damage your vehicle, your jack, or yourself. Once you have your jack all the way collapsed, go ahead and tighten it back up so it's ready to go up again, and slide it out of the way. And that is the proper procedure to jack your vehicle up and remove the jack stand."
