Video Transcript

"Hi! My name is Nate McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to remove a busted wheel stud. As you can see here, the short stud is the one that has been busted off and there is really only one way to knock those out and that's with a hammer. You want to take care not to strike the hub surface as well as any of your other studs. If you damage one of these studs significantly enough, you are going to end up doing the job again. As I said the only way to really get one out is to strike them with a hammer. You are going to want to make sure to wear safety glasses anytime you are using a hammer. Go ahead and give it a couple of good shots and that is it. As you can see, this is our busted stud. That is quite a significant amount; shorter than the other studs. This actually broke off inside the lug nut when I had a flat tire one day. "
