"Hi, I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkin's Custom Hot Rods, and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. The next step is what brought us here in the first place, replacing the gas tank support brackets that are welded to the bottom of the trunk floor. So the whole reason we had to do this trunk floor job is that these tank support braces were too rotten to hold up a new tank. The trunk floor that we're installing goes about to this line. The tank support braces go up to this line. So Alex is going to cut this out, and use scraps of other steel from another job, of the same quality and color, as the trunk floor, and patch that when he's done. So now he's gonna cut here and the remove the rest of the tank support braces. If we could buy a trunk floor with the fuel tank support braces already welded into it, and the body mounts welded into it, the job would go much more quickly, and much more affordably. The trunk floor we bought doesn't quite fit the car. The straps we bought don;t quite fit the car, and that's the nature of this industry. If you're doing this repair yourself, it's not your fault."
