"Hi! I'm Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic and I am here today on behalf of expertvillage.com and I am here to talk about cat grooming. All right, on your day of grooming of grooming with your cats and you may have bathed them or brushed them or whatever your little routine is, one of the things that you need to do is clip their nails. So when you clip a cat's nails you need to expose it by pushing it from the bottom out and you can see that the nail has a pink nail bed that is the quick and then there is white beyond that that has no pink in it. You want to cut the white off but you don't want to cut into the pink. So with one hand spread that nail out and with nice little cat clippers, you cut off the excess just trying not to get any of the pink. You do that on all four feet. "
