"DARREN STORR: Hi. My name is Darren Storr. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm showing you guys how to run the 4 x 100 relay. All right, this is my teammate, Louis Young. He's going to help me demonstrate some of the baton relay exchanges throughout the zones. Also, the second leg on the relay, 4 x 100 relay, is the longest leg. So, usually, when everyone is running 90 meters, the second leg is running 120 meters, sometimes 110 meters, depending on the track. Also, the anchor leg is usually the fastest on the relay team so he makes up a lot of ground for the rest of the team. Usually, a relay split for a 100-meter runner would be around 8 to 9 seconds, this being that one man accomplished that, Carl Lewis. So this is some of the things you have to remember when running the 4 x 100. This--like I said, this is a very fast race. It's very quick and it's a matter of seconds before the race is done."
