"Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton from the Reserve at Spanos Park and we are talking about the golf swing and what we will talk about in particular is ball position. When you hear the word ball position, what that is it is simply where the ball is positioned in your stance between your feet. For a right handed golfer when we say up in our stance, up in your stance would be your left foot, middle of a stance would be more in the middle of your stance and the back of your stance would have the ball on this side. For a right handed golfer your left foot would be up, middle. Your right foot would be back. Typically in golf we want to have the ball somewhere from the middle up. If you are trying something different like on chip shots or hitting a wedge, you may hit it a little further back and it is going to cause more of a descending blow. If you are having trouble actually getting the ball off the ground, one thing you can do is just simply move the ball farther back in your stance and you should be able to get more divots and actually get the ball up in the air. A lot of times a lot of players will have the ball too far forward trying to get the ball up in the air and this simply makes it very difficult to actually make a divot on that side of the ball. We always want to try and make a divot and that is what gets the ball in the air and if you are having trouble making divots, look at where your ball position is. One of the things you always have to do and do this a lot is we are going to determine ball position by simply putting your club down. We are actually going to take it perpendicular from this point and that is ball position. As many times where a player can actually think that this ball is in a position which is up or back and the easiest way to really do this is put your club down, do it perpendicular and that will determine exactly where your ball position is. So if you find you are having trouble hitting down on it, try and move the ball back just a little bit and you should be able to make some divots and get the ball up in the air. "
