Memorial Day is wonderful holiday, the unofficial first day of summer. It may find you at a barbecue, a baseball game, or opening day at the swimming pool. But wherever you are, take a moment to remember what Memorial Day is all about.
Take time wherever you may be to pause for one minute at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day. This is the National Moment of Remembrance established by Congress. If you are driving turn on your lights.
Step2
Explain to children the importance of Memorial Day and the significance of pausing to reflect on those who died in service to their country.
Step3
Participate in Memorial Day events. Call your state or local communities to find out what Memorial Day events are being held in your area.
Step4
Call a friend or family of a Veteran who sacrificed to say, "Thank you...."
