Rod Technique for Installing a Phone Jack

"Hi, I am Drew Fendy here today to demonstrate how to install a jack for your telephone for ExpertVillage.com. The fishing rod is what we are going to use for this installation and essentially it is a flexible piece of fiberglass with a hook on it and we feed it up through the wall, connect the wire up above and pull it back down through. The fishing rod, my buddy is down stairs fishing it up through the wall and like with any good fishing trip it is much more fun and easier when you have a friend, a buddy. So he is fished it up through and I can reach in and I directed him on how to do it up further and stuff. Now we have it up through here, I am going to connect the wire to, and he can pull it back down through. We are pulling this down, we have got a couple of sections up in the wall, the second section, and we should be getting to the wire. Here we are. We have got the wire, loop down through and now we can run the wire, pull as much water through as we need to get over to the new connection that we need."
