Hi! This is Bobby Hester on behalf of In this next clip, we’re going to demonstrate how to clean the inside of your computer, safely. I like to use aerosol sprayers. There are several different kinds on the market; but they’re a sprayer that doesn’t have any moisture in it, and it’s safe to spray onto electronics. There are a couple different versions. This one actually has like a CO2 type cartridges. It’s not CO2, but the cartridge looks similar to a CO2 cartridge. You can spray that, and spray the dust off the components of the computer. The thing I don’t like about these type is they don’t last very long. They just they wear out too quick. I prefer the larger cans that you can buy at any electronic store. These tend to last a lot longer. They work just the same, and they’re actually cheaper than the ones that uses CO2 type cartridge. One of the most important things is you need to watch out for static electricity on electronic components. Static can fry your circuits very quickly. It just takes just a second of touching the computer in the wrong spot and you can fry the circuit board or anything like that. I always recommend that you touch the back of the case by the power supply. Anytime that you might get away from the unit and come back to it, you want to touch it, that will discharge any static that you have built on you before you will open up a case. Also, if your computer is still under warranty, or if you don’t feel comfortable with opening up the case on your computer, you shouldn’t, if you don’t know. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, then just have a professional open up your case and clean it for you. Now, we’re going to open up our case. Once again, many manufactures just void your warranty. If that’s the case, I would recommend that you just take it to a professional dealer and have them clean it out for you. Inside the case, I have got quite a bit of dust built up right here; on the fan especially, it is where really builds up. This is called the heat sink, that’s right on top of the processor. If that gets cogged up with dust, your computer will overheat and possibly melt down the processor and cause all kinds of damage within the computer. So it’s very important to keep the dust clear and clean off your computer, and it will allow to run a lot better too if you keep it clean. We just take this sprayer, hold it back about 8-10 inches and just get a few blasts. It doesn’t take much. Just work it around. This computer is not as bad as many I have seen. Blow all the dust out. By doing this, your computer will continue to run cool and clean.
