"Hi, my name is Gary Godwin and I'm the general manager for Hawley's Camping Center in Wilmington, NC. On behalf of Expert Village, this is a tape entitled, "How To Purchase An RV." Now lets say you and your salesman have sat down, you've talked, you've even done a test drive, if you bought a motor home, and now your going to decide how you're going to pay for this thing. Well, there's a couple different ways you can do it; and again, what's important is what's important for you. Every RV dealership that I know of will take cash. So if you want to come in with cash, yea, we'll take it, we'll give you the receipt, we'll get it all done. But what is the benefit of paying cash versus financing? We're going to talk about that a little bit. Financing is a way of extending the payments over a period of time so that it doesn't cost as much up front, in order to utilize your camping. Now you also have to remember that if you don't own a second home, beach house, mountain place, this is considered to be a second home. So you can actually write the interest of this off as a second home mortgage interest. But be sure and check with your CPA on that to make sure they understand the federal law. So what ever is best for you is the way it we'll go. If you go with a finance man, most of your dealerships have a great working relationship with a whole bunch of different vendors out there and they can take one of these programs and make it fit what you want to do, ok? Now, think about that. Do you want to pay cash or do you want to finance? Once you've made that decision, then it's time to go to the next step."
