It's similar to what you would experience when you take a spray can of presurized liquid and spray it out. It's cold to the touch. It's the same theory here. Because of the restriction of the orface tube it pretty much sparys a low pressure liquid in there and as that expands it will absorb the heat from the vehicle. Now we'll talk about some of the individual components. This is the compressor. You'll see a electrical connection. That connection is for a large magnet that is behind this pully that engages this clutch so the so the compressor turns. Without that electrical connection it will just free wheel. It's got a inlet and outlet. This particular one has a port for an overheat switch. This is where you have the low pressure gas comming. Compresor compresses it. It will heat that gas up. As it's compressed, it will exit the compressor as a high pressure gas.
