"Hi there! I'm Fran Friedman from Morning Star Animal Sanctuary and I am here to talk to you about halters for ferrets on behalf of expertvillage.com. This is an average size ferret and this is the type of halter. It is sold by Super Pet. There are various different kinds. This is the one that I like because it's not thin and it doesn't hurt them under the arms and tends to stay on more secure. The one thing about a halter that I must mention before hand is the animal should never be left unsupervised with their halter and leash on because they can get caught on things. Also, they try to get out of it and they get it wrapped around their mouth and that is not good. I am going to show you how to put the halter on if you are lone but if you have someone who can help you, is even better and easer. But if you are alone and the ferret cooperates, you have this like this and little hook for the leash is at the bottom, you put it around and it has Velcro and a little snap. It's a little tight on this ferret so I could have got a size up, but you also don't want it to be too loose because they like to back out of things. Their little hands tend to get our of things. They are squirmy so it is difficult but this is Thelma and she is cooperating pretty nicely. So you have your little harness on and there it is, looks quite nice. Then you take your lease and you hook it on and there you have it. "
