Series Summary

Welfare is monetary assistance paid for by taxpayers that goes to those that are not able to work for whatever reason. Maybe they are injured, or lack of education or substance abuse. There are many factors that go into whether someone is qualified for welfare or not. For many welfare is a last resort that they do not want to go to unless they are in dire straights. It serves as a national safety net for many who can not help themselves. Many nations throughout the world have this 'safety net' and use it to boost its economy and lower its unemployment rate. Although most respect the system and what it is there for many take it for granted and abuse it as well.

In this free video clip series our welfare expert will show you exactly how to apply for it in the state of Florida. Many states are similar to Florida int his regard but some will have a few subtle differences in their application procedure so review more for that. Here you will learn every step from the website you need to go to to apply and reasons why you might need welfare to the penalties for fraudulent information and your rights as a citizen. So rest easy knowing you have a net beneath you!

on 4/23/2008 I could not get the video to play, but thanks for the Series Summary. I have a good friend who has worked full time for 30 years, is now on kidney dialysis and cannot work - and felt guilty asking for help from welfare or food stamps! When she finally got help, she was so grateful to be able to buy fresh veggies again, I almost cried, I had no idea it was that bad. So, please don't say it's "mooching off the public" if someone has paid into the system and is now on hard times. We have to take care of each other.

"Hi, everybody my name is Angela Pugh. I'm the mother of two teenage daughters, for a while I was a single parent. So today I'm here on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to teach you how to apply for welfare. There are several reasons why a person might want to apply for welfare and in my case I was going through a divorce, my children we're very young. Even though I was working child support was not coming in yet so I needed to apply for welfare. A lot of single parents may need to apply for welfare to get medical assistance for their children and themselves to apply for food stamps and to apply for cash assistance from the state. Other reasons why you may want to apply for welfare is if you suddenly become ill and illness can stop you from working and it may be some time before you qualify for disability. It may be that your family cannot financially help you at the time, that will be another reason why you would want to apply for welfare. Another reason why you want to apply for welfare is that this country is currently in a health care crises and sometimes even though you may be working the cost of medical benefits maybe just too high for you to handle. So parents may want to apply for Medicaid for their children, there are several reasons why a person would need to apply for welfare. Let's not be ashamed about it, the money there is provided from the government and it came out of our checks. So don't be ashamed if you feel like you have any reason to apply for welfare. If you don't do it for yourself do it for your children and do it for the relatives that would have to bail you out with money and food if you did not apply."
