Hi, I’m Steven Lee. And, I’m going to talk to you about styles of tie-dye t-shirts. There’s lots of styles of tie-dye t-shirts, and I have many of them right here. The first one I’ll talk to you about is called a marble design, and a marble design is just kind of random spots of color that kind of flow out into the design in kind of fiery, feathery shapes like this. This is a monochromatic spiral design. Monochromatic means one color, and we did use one color on this. We used one color mixed strong, and the same color mixed weak, so it’s a harmonious design on one shirt, but it looks like it has two different colors. This is a rainbow spiral, where we use six different colors on one shirt in a classic spiral design. This shirt has all the different colors – all the primary colors: red, yellow, and blue – and all the secondary colors: green, purple, and orange. This is called a stripe design, where it has stripes of color. And, this is done using the classic accordion fold. This is, like, a vintage tie-dye, and we made this by dry-tying the shirt with rubber bands and string. This is a really nice shirt that I call a character shirt, and this was done by sewing a design of the character into the shirt, and then pulling the threads tight, and then dyeing around that design. Have fun tie-dyeing!
