Hi, I'm Elise Wright. I'm here with Celebrity Manicurist Gerry Holford and we're going to show you how to do your nails. Firstly, let's start with the tools you need. You need a nail file, an orange stick for your cuticles, a four-way buffer, nail polish remover, a cotton pad and a Q-tip, a base coat and a top coat, and a nail polish of your choice. You want to start by filing your nails to get a smooth shape. Always gently file in just one direction because going back and forth can damage your nail. Carefully push your cuticles back using the orange stick. Buff your nails using the buffing block to give your nails a smooth and shiny finish. Once you're finished buffing, get some nail polish remover on your cotton pad and wipe away any residue so your nails are clean and dry before you start painting. When you're painting you want to use as few brush strokes as possible. Lots of strokes will lead to streaking. Once your base coat is dry, paint on two thin coats of your color. If your first coat looks a little light or streaky, don't worry it will even out with a second coat. Finish off with a top coat. If you accidentally get any polish on your cuticles, you can wipe it away with some remover on a Q-tip.
