Hi, my name is Luke, and this is what happens if I put my computer to sleep for the whole day? When your computer sleeps the data and things that you're using gets saved in your RAM. As long as the computer still has power either through the battery or through a cable in the wall everything will stay saved. You can let your computer sleep for as long as you want. However if the computer loses power for any reason the memory in the RAM which is what your doing when the computer goes to sleep will get deleted. If you tell your computer to hibernate instead of sleep you can lose power to the computer and everything you are doing will still be saved. The way you do this is by clicking on the start bar. And then the right arrow next to shut down. Here you can see different options like switch user, log off, lock, restart and sleep. There's also hibernate.
