Hi, I'm Matt Pizzi, and today we're gonna talk about how you can work with After Effects templates. After Effects templates are incredibly useful, because they can save you an enormous amount of time as you're working with a pre-built animation, and all you have to do is customize it. There's no shortage of After Effects templates resources on the web. So go ahead and find one that suits the needs for your project, and customize it. For this example, I'm gonna use this template. You'll see that there's quite a bit of animation happening, and it's fairly sophisticated, but there's an obvious area within this template that you can customize. In this example, it reads your text here, which means you're probably supposed to put your text there. So I'm gonna go ahead and download this template and open it inside of After Effects. Once you get inside of After Effects, you'll find how the template is structured. They're all a little bit different. In this case, there's a logo text composition, and you can enter that composition by coming up to the top tab and choosing that composition. Here you can select each of the text objects, and then you can customize these text objects. I'll go ahead and change this first text object to read Matt, and then I'll go ahead and select this second text object, and I'll have it read Pizzi, so I'll type in my last name. And then for the last text object, I'll just enter an explanation point a couple of times. By customizing this composition, if we come back to the main scene and play it, you'll see that your new text appears inside this animation. Based on this example, you can see that using templates can save you an enormous amount of time, and they're pretty easy to edit.
