Hey, everybody. Joe Liptock, audio engineer. Today, I'm going to be talking about what is an external sound module. Now an external sound module, that sounds really intimidated off the bat. But it really isn't. Most basic situation of a sound module that I think of is in a digital keyboard. Think about it. You're playing your keyboard but it's not an acoustic piano so why am I hearing acoustic piano sounds? Well what's actually happening is when you're hitting the keys, a trigger signal is sent to the sound module and then the sound module plays the sample of an acoustic piano. So what is an external sound module. Well it's just a sound module that does not lie within the device that you trigger it with. In fact the most common external sound modules that I can think of are ones that hook up via middy. Like the core trident for example. So I hope this helps you get a picture of what an external sound module is and I wish you the best in your future of audio. Thank you guys. My name is Joe Liptock, and have a great day.
