Hi, everyone! I’m Dr. Tabasum Mir, of Mir Skin Dermatology here in New York City. I get a lot of questions about facial scrubs, and which ones are the most gentle for sensitive skin. And the two that I can recommend are rice bran-based scrubs, as well as adzuki bean-based scrubs. These are two ingredients that are usually finely milled, so they are a very fine powder. And, using them can create a nice, gentle exfoliation, especially if you have sensitive skin or you have skin that’s treated with things such as Accutane or Retin A. Now, you can go out and buy these yourself and try and grind them yourself, but the good news is that they’re found in a lot of really great products out there that are available over the counter. You can buy them in almost any type of drugstore out there, and you can look for the ingredients with rice bran or adzuki – sometimes, they’re combined together in creams to be able to create one nice gentle exfoliation. So, my recommendation is, if you have sensitive skin or skin that’s being treated with Accutane or Retin As, to go out there and look for a rice bran or adzuki bean-based scrub, because those are really going to give you the nice gentle exfoliation without irritating your skin. I hope you found these tips useful! I’m Dr. Tabasum Mir, of Mir Skin. Thank you!
