Now I know some of you out there have accidentally shrunken your wool sweater but I'm here today to tell you, to let you know that there's no way to restretch shrunken wool and let me explain why. Once the wool fiber has been shrunk, there is only one way to fix it is to deknit the sweater, retreat the fiber, respin the fiber and then reknit the fabric. There's only two good ways to wash a wool sweater and that is dry clean only and cold water, gentle cycle, laid dry, flat.
