Hi, I'm skin care expert Tracy O'Connor, and today I'm going to show you how to fade old scars. So as if acne wasn't frustrating enough, but so often it leaves behind a post-inflammatory response, which usually comes in the form of a dark spot, or pigmentation or even scarring. And for those of us with lighter skin, the scars are often red or pinkish in color, and if you have darker skin, sometimes it's a purplish or brownish color. But don't be frustrated, because the good news is that there are products out there that contain ingredients to brighten and lighten and improve your skin tone and restore that balanced, radiant complexion. A serum is always a great way to go if you're looking to treat scarring. And I'm going to use the Clearly Corrective, Dark Spot Corrector by Kiehl's. Whenever you're looking to get a serious job done, like improving and treating discoloration, a serum is always the way to go. Serums are able to penetrate deeply to kind of rapidly attack those deep set spots. Gently placing the product all over Genevieve's skin, and then I'm going to go ahead and just kind of tap, tap it in, using kind of a rolling motion, and you always apply a serum after you've cleansed the skin. And I love to use a serum after I've exfoliated, 'cause that will allow for better penetration of the product, once you've swept away the dead skin cells off the surface of the skin with an exfoliant, then the serum can really go to work. And you apply a moisturizer after your serum. I'm just kind of tapping and gently working the product into the skin. Vitamin C is an incredibly active and powerful product. It's proven to brighten and lighten pigmentation and discoloration in the skin. It's also a powerful antioxidant, so, kind of get a two-in-one benefit because it's anti-aging. Helps to rejuvenate the skin, and restore a healthy vitality to the look of the skin and the feel of the skin. And the birch extract is formulated here as well to improve the efficacy of the vitamin C, and render it even more powerful and effective. Whenever looking for a result, and specifically a result on something as stubborn as scarring and discoloration, you must use the product consistently. I would recommend applying this product both AM and PM, and give it time, and within just a few short weeks, you will notice a result. One additional botanical ingredient that's very effective for inflamed skin or scarring is lavender oil, and that is effective for reducing inflammation, as well as reducing irritation. Now this formulation will not only reduce the pigmentation, but the vitamin C will also help to improve the skin's texture by renewing and restoring skin, so it will improve the divots and the acne scars that are left behind. And that's how to fade old scars. I'm Tracy O'Connor, thanks for watching.
