Hi, I’m Janet. I’m a personal trainer and massage therapist for Metamorphosis. And today, I’m going to share with you a forearm exercise that you can use to either prevent or cure tennis elbow. So, tennis elbow is an overuse syndrome, so what really needs to happen is you need to do some therapeutic exercises for that joint. What I’m going to show you is an exercise that’s done on the floor, and it’s going to look like this: I’m going to lay down face-down, and I’m going to take my arms and put them volleyball-style underneath my body. And, what I mean by that is your arms are going to be turned out just like you would bump a volleyball. So, here’s what you’re going to do: All you need for this is a floor, and what I like to do is I like to lay down and put one arm down first. So, remember, it’s like you’re bumping a volleyball, so it’s palm down, forearm down. And then, I’m going to lay my body over my arm and roll to the other side. And then, you’re going to gently take your arms back out from underneath your body. So, why that’s effective is your body is putting a good amount of pressure onto that elbow joint in a therapeutic way. And then, when you lift your leg you’re also pressing into that joint with your hip bone. So, it’s really important when you lift your leg don’t let your hip come up with it. Keep that hip pressed down into your elbow joint. The other thing that’s super-important, even though I turned my head to talk to you, is please, please, please keep your chin on the floor, and do not turn your head. That way, you don’t injure your neck. My name is Janet, I’m a personal trainer for Metamorphosis, and that’s forearm exercises to prevent tennis elbow.
