I'm Dave Dreeas here at Peak Performance in Phoenix, Arizona, and I'm here to talk about can deadlifts and squats increase your arm size. This question is posed because a lot of people are under the assumption that doing compound movements such as a squat or a deadlift you release more growth hormone and testosterone. That is true but for the most part if you don't actually lift your biceps or triceps or add some form of resistance on those muscle groups, they aren't going to grow. You need to tear apart the muscle fibers, repair them with proper nutrition and sleep in order to see your arms grow. When performing a deadlift, the primary muscle groups that are activated are your glutes, your hamstrings, your calves, your lower back and your forearms. When performing a squat, the primary muscles that are activated are your quads, your hamstrings and your calves. Therefore, there's little activation on your biceps and triceps for optimal growth. I hope this information is helpful in answering the question can you increase your arm size deadlifting and squatting. I'm Dave Dreeas here at Peak Performance in Phoenix, Arizona. Thanks for watching.
