Hi, my name is Tracy Brown, I'm a beauty expert. I have about 30 years of experience in skin care and makeup and as a cosmetics trainer and I have a great blog where you can view all my experience, my tips and advice blingingbeauty.com. Today we're at the beautiful My'Amour Salon & Spa in San Leandro. Our topic today is, what lip pencil is good to use with a sheer, natural lipstick? The first thing you should do when choosing your pencil is to really look at your own lip color and choose a pencil that's very close to your lip tone. One pencil I love which works with a lot of different lip tones and I've been using it for years is by LORAC, it's number 06. I'm going to use these on our model Tamara, the reason we want to get a pen, pencil before the lip gloss is one that it helps it, lip gloss stay in place and two with a natural color lipstick, not lip gloss, lipstick, it gives a little more structure to the lip. And you have two options there, you can fill in the entire lip or just do the perimeter as a liner, I tend to like to just fill the whole lip in so you have a little bit of matte color there to hold the lipstick. Start applying the sheer Milani in nude on top, we're going to work that in and as you can see it's a nice match. The benefit with that lip pencil is that we don't have a really huge line of demarcation of light and dark around the edges of her lip. The lipstick appears nude and pretty, one color. So remember when you're choosing a lip pencil to use with a neutral nude lipstick to choose one that's close to your lip color, typically in a brown base and then apply it first to your lips and mix it in with the lipstick on top. My name is Tracy, if you have any other questions about skin care or makeup, you can find me on Twitter, my handle there is blingingbeauty.
