Hi, everyone, I'm hairstylist Amanda Shackleton from, and today I'm here to show you how to straighten textured hair. I would suggest if you have a somewhat of a natural texture in your hair whether it's wavy, curly, frizzy, to start off with a Brilliantine or some kind of silicone based product. Just take a little bit in your finger and go ahead and run it through the hair starting at the ends and then working your way up to the roots. Once you've done that, that will give your hair a nice protection from the heat and then you really want to come in with your blow dryer and a nice big round vented brush, turn up the heat to full blast and go ahead and start blowing the hair out in sections. So we'll take a section here. I usually like the nozzle to just touch the hair and the hairbrush but you want to be careful to leave a little bit of space in between the two because you don't want to burn the hair. So just continue just like that, twirling the ends so they are nice and finished looking and then just continue on in small sections throughout the rest of the hair. What that does, it gives it a really beautiful sleek kind of shiny look and the hair is nice and straightened yet not too pin straight, it's still got a little bit of movement in it. So there you go. I've just shown you how to straighten textured hair. I'm hairstylist, Amanda Shackleton.
