Hey there, my name is Jay Jones, Celebrity Performance Coach and Fitness Minister, and today I'm going to demonstrate two exercises that seniors can do while lying in bed. Now, you know you've got to utilize your body because if you don't use it, you'll lose it. Sarcopenia is the degeneration of muscle overtime. So, we want to prevent that by simply doing a little bit of something. We know a little bit of something, beats a whole lot of nothing. So, this is what we're going to do. This is a great exercise for seniors while you're still lying in bed early in the morning. To get the blood flowing as soon as you wake up, you want to move the covers off, take your knees and we're going to do what we call knee drivers. Bring the knees to the chest, "Pshhh", just activate the quads, you'll fee the quads stretch, you'll feel the core engage and you'll feel your heart start to beat, beat a little faster, get some blood flowing. The next move we're going to do is just a basic sit up all the way. So, we're going to pull ourselves up by the core and sit all the way up. Then, we're going to ease our back, back down and we're going to pull ourselves back up, utilizing the core the entire time.
