Hey, my name is Jay Jones, celebrity peak performance coach and fitness minister, and today I'm going to demonstrate a fantastic abdominal exercise for sedentary adults. Now if you find yourself missing the gym in months and years, well this is a great exercise that you can do right now at home to help build your core, not just your abs but your entire core, obliques and lower back. This is one of the simplest but toughest exercises you can do, it's called a plank. This is what we do. We get down, feet together first and we're just on our elbows and forearms and we hold this position. Don't tuck your neck, keep your head flat, looking at your fingers. If in fact you feel as if this is too difficult, open your legs in the back to relieve some of the stress. If you fall, then just get back up and fight through it until time expires.
