Hi, I'm Caitlin Connors, Social Media Director at Boomtown Internet Group. Today, I'm going to show you how to get rid of spam in Gmail. First go to Gmail, once you're logged in to your Gmail account you'll see the navigation on the left hand side, you may have to click more to see the spam, here's where Gmail is storing all your spam. You can click on each one and scroll to the bottom where you'll find a unsubscribe, you can do that for news letters and companies you know have been sending you things, that you just no longer want to get, such as Victoria's Secret or other catalogs. You don't want to go through it one by one, click the button up here and it'll select all of them, delete these forever, that will delete all your spam from Gmail, whether you're looking at it on gmail.com or your client such as Mail or Outlook. However Gmail isn't that smart and sometimes you may know some key words that have been coming though that are spam, that are not being filtered by Gmail. On the right hand side of your screen you'll see a gear click that and click settings, here you'll find filters, click on filters and create a new filter. This is where you'll be able to customize what Gmail thinks is spam, you can put a sender, anything for Google just say, you can put a subject, key words or if the message has any of the following words. The highest rated words for spam are out there online if you'd like to search. You can use words such as pharmacy, clearance, singles, assets, profits, freezes such as increased traffic or direct marketing and especially key words such as diet and brand names that you may find. You can create a filter with this search. Then you can tell Gmail what you want it to do when a message arrives that matches the search that you've shown, you can have it skip the inbox, delete it all together, mark it as spam, you choose and then create the filter. I'm not going to create this filter because this has filter has so many options, I don't think any email is going to have all these key words. You'll need to make a different filter for each key word. And that's how to delete spam from Gmail. I'm Caitlin Connors the Social Media Director at Boomtown Internet Group. And that's how to delete spam from your Gmail.
