Hi, Benjamin Lupu, certified financial planner, Kensington AMI registered investment adviser with how to buy physical copper as an investment. You can buy physical copper from certain metals dealers, coin dealers and so forth but you have to be careful as to see what you are paying for the metal. Generally copper trades at a certain futures price, determined every day that you can find on the internet but you have to determine how much of a profit metals deals are making. They have to make some money on your transaction. If you buy a large amount of copper, you can use a smaller amount of markup, maybe 10 or 15 to 20%. If you are buying only a small amount, you should allow the dealers a larger amount of markup maybe 30, 35%. So you're a little bit behind when you start on physical copper. Copper is not a real metal. It's an industrial metal. There's a lot of it around. Most of the copper on Earth has not yet been mined. It's still int he ground. It's not a precious metal like gold so be careful when looking at copper as an investment. It is an industrial metal and you need to do your homework before you proceed. With how to buy physical copper as an investment, I'm Benjamin Lupu, certified financial planner of Kensington AMI.
