Hello, my name is Sandra Blackie and I'm a certified sports nutritionist. One of the most common questions that I get asked is what do we eat before the workout and what do we eat after the workout? The most important nutrient pre-workout is carbohydrate. Fruits, vegetables, starches, and grains from mother nature. The second most important nutrient pre-workout is protein. We buffer protein on the front side and the back side of the workout for building, repairing, and recovering the body. Post workout we're eating carbohydrates, protein, and fats. This is a significant recovery meal. So it's really, really important to get that in within one hour after your workout. And one final piece of advice is please go into your workout digested and well hydrated.
