Hi everyone. My name is Joi, licensed nail technician, and today I'm going to show you all how to remove dead skin off of nails. So I'm going to be using a cuticle oil here. I've got my cuticle pusher and then I'm going to follow up with a buffer. So what you want to do first is to soften the cuticle area which is where the dead skin that grows down on your nails usually originates. So just a couple of drops of that, massage it in. If you have a cuticle softener or an actual cuticle remover, you can use that as well, either one will work just fine and then you want to take your cuticle pusher and gently push upwards towards the cuticle. You don't want to push too hard. You don't want to damage the live skin that's actually up there but you're just going to use a pushing and a light scraping motion wherever you see the dead skin. Okay, and that will get that dead skin right off of there. If you actually touch it and you feel like it's still a little bit rough, you can follow up with your buffer and that should clean up the last bit of dead skin around the edges of the nail there. Okay alright so as you can see the dead skin has been removed and of course you just follow along with the rest of your nails as needed and you have a nice clean nail ready for your manicure. So thank you all for watching and my name again is Joi and you guys have a great day.
