Hi, I'm Chef Mariko. Today, I'm going to show you how to re-heat potatoes. Potatoes are a delicious dish that can go with almost any meal so I like to prepare a lot of ahead of time so then I always have them to warm up when I need them. Today I'm going to show you how to re-heat one of my personal favorites, scalloped potatoes but this method will work for mashed potatoes as well. First, you want to get a heat-proof dish. This is my baking dish that has my scalloped potatoes in it. Then I want to add two tablespoons of butter, and a half a cup of milk. Potatoes are very starchy so when you cook them, they absorb a lot of the liquid. That's why it's important to add some other liquid like milk to them when reheating. So I'm just going to stir it together a little bit. I'm just going to cover my potatoes with a piece of wax paper and put in the microwave for about two to three minutes until steamy. If you want to re-heat your potatoes in the oven, you can do the same method as well, a little bit of butter, a little bit of milk and just cover them with foil and bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes. My potatoes have been re-heating in the microwave for two minutes. And they're all steamy and ready to serve. I am Chef Mariko showing you how to re-heat potatoes. Enjoy.
