Hi, I'm Michelle Simone, and I'm a hairstylist, and today I'm going to show you how to get natural, curly, frizzy hair. So in order to get a more natural curl on short hair I'm going to use a smaller curling iron. This is like a 3/4 inch barrel and I'm going to take it and section off small pieces about one inch wide. I'm going to wrap them around the curling iron without clipping it into the barrel. This is going to give it a more natural curl and it's going to leave your ends free so they don't look too stiff or made up. Hold it for a couple seconds and then let it go and do this all the way around your head making sure that you wrap around the barrel and make sure that your hand doesn't touch the curling iron because it's very easy to get burned this way, but another trick here to making it look more natural is to curl different strands in opposite directions. So some strands should go towards your face and some should go away from your face but wrap it quickly for a couple seconds and then move on to the next piece and it's also helpful to not take perfectly shaped sections, this way it's going to look more like a natural curl rather than one you've done yourself. So I'm just taking various pieces and wrapping them up. And you're going to do this all the way through your head and once you've curled your entire head, just take your fingers and shake it through. This is going to give it a little more life, a little more naturalness and you can always go back with a can of hairspray and take various pieces, lift them up, give it a little spray. This is going to give it more body, more volume and kind of scrunch it up and that's how you are going to get your natural, curly, frizzy hair.
